Wales Bonner x Adidas SS22: What To Expect And Where To Buy

Following the success of Wales Bonner’s previous collaborations with Adidas Originals, the London-Based brand is due to launch their eagerly awaited Spring Summer 2022 collection alongside Adidas on 4th June, which will mark their fourth collaboration together. In true Wales Bonner style, promotions have been low-key with only a short promotional video released via their instagram on 30th May, followed by a few campaign photos appearing later.

As with Grace Wales Bonner’s previous collections with Adidas, she continues to reimagine vintage Adidas silhouettes and colours from the 70s and 80s. The collection takes creative inspiration from photography and music in Burkina Faso of this era, with the majority of items in the drop being bold and bright. The collection is seemingly focused on a marigold and burgundy colour palette, with the first few shots showing red and yellow adidas tracksuits layered over gold sequin shirts.

The most successful pieces from the previous collaborations, the Wales Bonner footwear styles, are returning again this drop with the Sambas appearing in two colourways; white with either red or green stripes. In addition to this, the Adidas country shoe is being reimagined in black and brown leather.

The shoot was directed by silbing duo Jalan and Jibril Durimel, who have worked alongside individuals such as Alton Mason in the past, as well as being styled by Tom Guiness.

The collection will be dropping on 4th June on the official Wales Bonner and Adidas websites, as well as Adidas’ CONFIRMED app.
